Mock exams & full rationale
When the regulator can’t fully confirm an applicant’s academic background, it assigns a program of Technical Examinations to demonstrate engineering knowledge equivalent to an accredited Canadian degree. For internationally trained engineers, this is the most common step on the road to a P.Eng.
Each program is organised by discipline and split into Group A (compulsory, foundational exams) and Group B (advanced, specialised exams). Most candidates are also assigned Complementary Studies — engineering economics, law, ethics and the environment. Our prep is built around exactly that structure — so you study what the regulator tests, and nothing you don’t.
Pick your field to see the Group A and Group B exams we prepare you for, the syllabus we follow, and how each course is structured.
Structures, geotechnical, transportation & water resources.
Prep covering the core civil syllabus — from mechanics of materials and structural analysis to soil mechanics, hydraulics, and project practice.
Thermodynamics, dynamics, design & manufacturing.
Prep spanning the mechanical syllabus — thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, machine design, dynamics & control, and materials.
Circuits, power systems, electronics & control.
Prep covering the electrical syllabus — circuit theory and electromagnetics, power systems and machines, electronics, and control.
Economics, law, ethics & the environment.
The non-technical exams most candidates must also pass — engineering economics, law and professionalism, and so much more!
Every discipline above follows the same two-tier structure. Your assignment letter tells you which exams you need.
The foundational exams that establish core engineering competence in your discipline. Most candidates begin here. Our Group A prep rebuilds the fundamentals quickly and rigorously, then drills them with past-exam-style problems.
The advanced, applied exams that confirm depth in your sub-field. Our Group B prep focuses on application — extended problems, design judgement, and the exam technique needed to finish in time.
Beyond the technical groups, most candidates are also assigned Complementary Studies exams — the professional, economic and societal side of engineering practice.
Send us your PEO Technical Exam assignment. We'll match each Group A and Group B exam to the right OPC course.
Work through syllabus-mapped modules and worked problem sets, then sit timed mock exams in past-exam format.
Walk in prepared, clear your exams, and move one decisive step closer to your P.Eng. licence.
Every module ties directly to a exam on the official technical examination syllabus — so your study time goes only where it counts.
Your instructors are P.Eng.-credentialed and have guided hundreds of internationally trained engineers through these exams.
Timed, past-exam-style mock exams with full solutions train your speed and judgement before the real sitting.
Most online courses include access through your exam date plus a buffer, so you can keep practising right up to the sitting. Exact terms are listed on each program page.
Select programs include a retake-support policy — if you complete the course and don’t pass, you can re-enroll at no extra cost. Look for the guarantee badge on eligible programs.
