Why this workshop

Real Hands-On Experience is All You Need

Whether you’re an experienced plumber trained abroad or completely new to the trade, the challenge is often the same: Canadian employers look for practical, hands-on experience with local plumbing codes, tools, and industry terminology.

Our Plumbing Workshop helps you close that gap—so you can build relevant skills, gain confidence, and take your next step into Canada’s plumbing industry.

Already a plumber back home?

For you, this isn’t a beginner’s course — it’s a practical Canadian upgrade. With verifiable experience, you may be able to begin the exam-challenge and Red Seal 306A prep path during or after the workshop — without completing the full apprenticeship route — subject to approval by the relevant authority.

Your income isn’t capped at an hourly wage. As your skill and experience grow — and within licensing rules — overtime, project work, and building toward a contractor path can all add to what you earn.

The OPC workshop

This workshop doesn’t replace apprenticeship or college — it’s the fast, practical head start that gets you ready before you enter the job market or continue toward licensure.

Questions

Know this before you enroll

No — a licence is issued by the government body once you meet the requirements and pass the exam. What this workshop gives you is real hands-on skill, confidence, and a Certificate of Completion to show for it.

We can’t guarantee a job—but we can help make you a stronger candidate. You’ll leave with practical skills, confidence, and industry vocabulary to perform effectively in interviews and on the job site. Employer introductions may also be available, depending on current opportunities.

Not at all. Your experience is the starting point — the workshop focuses on aligning it with Canadian code, materials, tools, terminology and the way projects are actually run here, so employers recognise what you already know.

Yes — hands-on practice deepens the trade knowledge Red Seal tests. OPC also offers exam-challenge support and dedicated 309A preparation to take you the rest of the way.
